World Bank Transport Forum

The World Bank 2011 Transport Forum was held in Washington DC, from March 28th to 31st, 2011.  It  focused on 50 Years of Innovation in Transport - Achievements and Future Challenges.

The Transport Forum ccomprised four days of main morning sessions and afternoon learning opportunities. The main theme highlights the impacts of transport infrastructure and services in transforming people’s lives across regions and countries, and looks ahead at how the sector must transform itself to meet the needs of the 21st century.  

The plenary sessions were arranged around three themes: Innovation and Technology, Innovation and Governance and Innovation and Society.

The World Bank's Transport Forum is a bi-annual gathering of transport policy makers and practitioners from the World Bank, other international development agencies, donor agencies and developing countries governments as well as contributions from NGOs and the private sector who are involved with World Bank activities or contribute to transport projects content and innovation. The event provides an opportunity for discussing emerging trends, exchanging ideas and experiences, networking and mutual learning.
