On 30 and 31 October the 62nd General Assembly of the European Council of Civil Engineers on the 30th anniversary of its foundationΒ was held in Prague,Β hosted by the Czech Chamber of Authorized Professional and Technical Engineering. During this Assembly, WCCE President Alfonso Gonzalez attended the ECCE meeting invited byΒ the President of the European Council, the Polish Wlodimiercz Szymczak.

Homage to Vassilis Economopoulos

During this meeting, ECCE paid tribute to the figure of our Greek colleague Vassilis Economopoulos, who passed away last October and held the office of President of the European Council of Civil Engineers from 2009 to 2011. Vassilis Economopoulos contributed to the WCCE initative Β by holding the office of treasurer since 2006 to 2008.

European professional card Civil Engineering

This meeting presented ECCE's professional card first prototype, which aims improving the mechanisms for professional mobility by creating harmonized content to include in the cards of professional associations of the various countries in order to check in real time the information regarding Professional reducing bureaucracy limping any process of professional recognition in the EU with the possibility to extend it to other regions.

Certification of continuing professional development at European level

The need for conducting training activities update for the renewal of the professional license in various countries of the European Union has led to the creation of a harmonized framework for the registration of additional training that allows the training received in any country of the European Union allow the renewal of the license in any other country in Europe. In this regard, the Board of Education is developing ECCE taking a position that will be presented in the coming weeks in the European institutions.

Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership

In such meeting, ECCE's efforts with the EU's Negotiating Committee of TTIP, submitting sectoral technical guidelines issued by a working group of ECCE , with which to negotiate a possible reciprocal opening of market provision of engineering services and construction on both sides of the Atlantic. ECCE'S contribution has been to identify obstacles to overcome and risks of an inaccurate knowledge of the market. The current status of negotiations requires a communication interest of national governments of their respective countries for the inclusion of the item on the negotiating agenda professional authorities. This working group is led by the Spanish Colegio.
